The location of our cottages means that each and every season here comes with its own distinct benefits. For many visitors, that offers the opportunity to make several visits a year, and enjoy different experiences.
Regardless of the season you visit in, make sure you prepare yourself accordingly. If you’re coming in the summer, make sure you pack your sun cream AND your wellies as although Norfolk is blessed with above average sun shine and summer temperatures, it can rain or shine all year round. If you’re here in the early spring or late autumn, bring plenty of warm clothes as the evenings can be chilly and the wind very often blows harder on the coast.
Average winter temperatures range from 8°C to 1°C but of course being England this can vary enormously. In the summer, they range from 12°C to 22°C but just like the summer of 2022, you can get a heatwave any time from May to September with the temperatures soaring into the 30's!
Norfolk is officially the driest county in the whole of the UK but anyone who has ever lived there knows to expect rain even if you are coming in the summer, as it has a habit of raining when you least expect it. The winds on the coast can be strong too, so come prepared (and bring your kite!)
